He
left a paradise of splendor to take the position of a servant.
He was
no respecter of persons, treated a pauper the same as a prince.
He worked
with such zeal, they went without sleep, didn’t have time to eat.
He did
it for love of people, he didn’t need money or fame, he gave it all away.
His
authority was once questioned by none, now it was questioned by everyone.
He
called to them; they twisted the words saying there was never such a liar.
His reached
out his arms to them, they spit, and turned and walked away.
He offered
to make life better, they said the acts were from the devil.
Just
stop!
Stop? But
I’m just getting to the good part.
I’m
just sick of it!
Sick
of what?
Him. That’s
all you write about these days.
Him? You’re
not serious?
Yes! I’m
dead serious.
What?
No? Why?
You’re
a broken record. “He left his wonderful glorious life to be mocked and
ridiculed and scorned.”
He did
that and more—
I
know, I know, I’ve heard it all. “He wants to help; we turn away. He speaks truth;
we twist the words.”
He
does, you know it’s true—
You
think it’s true…come on Doug, next you’ll be saying he walks on water.
He did—
That’s
it! You’ve lost your mind. Don’t ever talk to me about Trump again. I mean it!
Ummmm,
oh, I see. That’s why…
Why
what?
I wasn’t
talking about President Trump.
Well
then who were….oh.
Yeah,
I was talking about Jesus.
Oops.
But
now that you mention it…I see your point.
Oh boy,
here we go.
I
think you might’ve just joined the Trump Train.
...
Jesus loves us, and US.
I pray clarity to every question mark in your heart.
Isaiah 53 New Living Translation
Who has believed our message?
To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm?
2
My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot,
like a root in dry ground.
There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance,
nothing to attract us to him.
3
He was despised and rejected—
a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.
We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.
He was despised, and we did not care.
4
Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;
it was our sorrows[a] that weighed him down.
And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God,
a punishment for his own sins!
5
But he was pierced for our rebellion,
crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.
6
All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.
We have left God’s paths to follow our own.
Yet the Lord laid on him
the sins of us all.
