We ALL Agree on This One Thing

 It all boils down to one word:

LIFE

Not just humans. Animals strive to survive. Even the invisible enemy, viruses, germs and amoebas, live and move and have their being in a constant fight for survival. Let’s face it, it doesn’t matter if we’re red or blue or, black, white, yellow, orange or rainbow; if we’re breathing…we’re pro-life. As in, we want to live.

In this embittered and embattled climate, there’s not much folks can agree on, but in this one thing, we should all be able to agree. Every living thing, is pro-life

While crafting this piece, when I got to this point, I stopped to pray. I know, like cockroaches from light, some readers will be tempted to scatter at first sight of the word “pro-life.” For you, I’ve prayed, you’ll stay.

If only we can put politics aside for a breath or two, we’ll have a civil discourse.

 For the sake of argument, I’ll concede; there may be rare occasion where something living is anti-life. But that occasion is a self-destructive perversion of any healthy norm.

Now, let’s springboard from the premise that every living thing, is for life.

Before even considering the topic of life, consider the odds that we all have something, anything, in common. What are the odds? We can’t even agree on what to have for supper, or what to watch on TV…yet, we have this one thing in common. Life. I find it fascinatingly amazing. This commonality is so far beyond the realm of natural order, that it mirrors the miraculous.  

Life.

Of course, there’s a never-ending heated debate about where, when and how, life became…life. But we all agree, we want it. For the most part we agree, life is good and snuffing it out, is bad. People spend everything they have, for one more day of, life. Folks fight and petition and march to save life. Whales. Turtles. Trees…lizards. Next to our RV Village, is a nice plot of land. Recently it was sold and then went back on the market shortly thereafter. Why? The buyer was told he couldn’t build on it, because a protected lizard of some kind was living there.

At this point in our conversation, if you’re still with me, let’s agree that this is a big deal. First, simply because of the miracle that we all agree on something. Next and most importantly, the thing we agree on is no small thing, but as important as...life.

Life.

Evolutionists and Creationists differ in opinions about the origin; but both, support life.

I’m not too well versed in evolution, so I apologize if my definition is lacking. My understanding is that the theory of evolution suggests that life gradually evolved from microorganism to you and me. Whereas Creationists believe that life came from a Divine Creator.

This idea of a Divine Creator is clearly the understanding of America’s Founding Fathers as they immortalized the words:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Along with billions of others experiencing life on the planet today, I too, hold these truths to be self-evident.

Don’t worry, I won’t attack evolution, or defend creation. I can only say, as for me and my house, we agree with the Founders; creation is self-evident. Creation needs a Creator. Just as a watch needs a watchmaker and a house needs a housebuilder. It’s as simple as that. It needs no defending. 

With that being said, I have a question for the billions who believe, life comes from a Divine Creator.

My question comes from multiple places in the Bible that declare God is the giver of life. (On a side note: For believers, the Bible is the Divinely Inspired Word of God. It was God breathed. Men wrote it, but they were inspired by God with what to write. It's like, they were ghost writers, for the Holy Ghost.)  

So, this is my question for believers. If God is the giver of life as the Bible clearly states, the heavens declare and creation reveals; since all mankind (believer or not) agree, that life is good and to be protected and defended…how is it, that anyone, especially a person who professes to be a believer, how could they co-sign an agenda directly against The Giver of Life?

Just as Saul (who became the Apostle Paul) was guilty of murdering saints, not because he did it, but because he enabled and condoned it; anyone who votes for a party that supports abortion is cosigning the death warrant of millions of innocent lives. Make no mistake, abortion, tortures and murders a Life created by God. Follow the science. This is scientifically proven to be absolute fact. 

  The stroke of a pen in the ballot box, can destroy or save...life.

In this regard, God is pro-choice. HE gives you the choice. But HE expects, no, HE commands, you to make the right choice, just to be sure, HE gives you the answer. CHOOSE LIFE.


I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live

Well penned and terrific conversation! I am curious if there will be someone who might share their insight to understand how they may justify the concept embraced of pro-choice as a Christ follower. Thank you!

I'm praying so hard that it's God's will that President Trump be reelected. He is more than likely the most pro-life leader we have ever had in this great country. Let us honor the Giver of Life with our vote!
