Now I saw heaven opened,
and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful
and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
We just attended, The Greatest Wedding in HIStory, Revelation 19:1-6. Now, we’re about to attend the largest funeral.
Preprayering for this message, I felt the Lord saying;
Ø I Take No
Pleasure in the Death of the Wicked
Ø I Will Do
It
Ø This Will Literally Happen
Now, please know, that as much as our Lord, looks forward to
and enjoys the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, He takes no pleasure in the
funeral that follows.
As surely
as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of the
wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live.
Ezekiel 33:11
Because He is Faithful and True, He follows through
with righteous judgement. He refuses to follow the path of least resistance,
tolerance and compromise, with sin.
Dad used to say, “this hurts me, more than it hurts you,”
right before I got a spankin’.
“Really? How ‘bout I spank you…then, I’ll really learn my
lesson?”
Now, Dad did it for discipline, even though he didn’t want to,
it was hard, it hurt, but out of the responsibility of love, he followed
through.
Jesus does too. That’s what the seven-year tribulation was
about. That’s perhaps, in many ways, what our life has been like.
However, at this time in our text, there’s a huge difference.
This time, Jesus is coming for judgement and war, not discipline.
Even though He takes no joy in it, He knows the time for
discipline is over. Those who oppose Him, played Russian roulette with their
souls, one too many times, and have reached the point of no return.
So, He comes, with fire in His eyes.
His eyes were like
a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a
name written that no one knew except Himself.
Can you see Him? Eyes burn with righteous judgement. Majestic Sovereignty glistens from royal
diadems.
This is a rare sight of Jesus Christ, showing up like this as,
Warrior King.
Rather than hovering, with sword and crown, as King of kings, and Lord of lords; Jesus prefers to be referred to as the, Lamb.
Noted once in the Old Testament (Isaiah 53:7), twice in the
Gospels (John 1:29, 36), and once in the Epistles (1 Peter 1:19). However, in
this book, The Revelation of Jesus Christ, He is referred to as the Lamb, twenty-eight times.
Yet, here and now, perfect Love, demands perfect justice, so He girds His warriors robe and saddles His white stallion.
He was clothed
with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
This isn’t the first time Jesus had blood on His clothes.
The religious folks who should’ve known Him, drew first blood. Then there was the cat of nine-tails; a crown
of thorns, and an old rugged cross.
They say value is determined by how much someone is willing to
pay.
Do you know how much you’re worth?
Jesus, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Prince of Peace,
Creator of the Universe, shed His blood, laid down His own life, to pay, for
yours.
You are worth so much more than all the riches in all the
world.
Jesus is no stranger to blood.
However, this time, the blood on His clothes, is not His own.
Why is
Your apparel red,
And Your
garments like one who treads in the winepress?
“I have
trodden the winepress alone,
And from
the peoples no one was with Me.
For I
have trodden them in My anger,
And
trampled them in My fury;
Their
blood is sprinkled upon My garments,
And I
have stained all My robes.
And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Revelation 19:14.
If you look close enough, you should be able to see your reflection, in that verse.
Remember, seven verses and seven days ago, we identified, the Bride of Christ, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, following Jesus on white horses.
Now out of His mouth
goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He
Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress
of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
We just read in verse thirteen that Jesus is called the Word of God.
Hebrews 4:12, tells us the Word of God is quick (alive) and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. We know that in the beginning, God spoke the world into existence.
So, there’s no sense assigning some form of man-made weaponry
to this verse. We don’t need to insert a nuclear weapon, or missiles, or, meteors
or hail stones.
Since He’s able speak the sun, moon, and stars in place, He can certainly, with just a word, wipe out an army, man or demon.
As if to emphasis the point, He goes on to tell us, that He Himself will do this. No help from earth’s armies, no assistance from His adoring Bride, who is following. He will strike, He will rule, He will tread.
Just like the end of one of our favorite Christmas verses:
The zeal
of the Lord of hosts will perform this. Isaiah 9:7b.
For
unto us a
Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon
His shoulder. And His name will be
called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace 7 Of the
increase of His government and peace There will be
no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice from
that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts
will
perform
this.
Isaiah 9:6-7
He will do it.
We can’t.
You see this old world had a great fall, and all the king’s
horses, and all the king’s men, can never, put it together again.
Only the King of kings, can do that. And He will, in that Day, when He makes all things new. Revelation 21:5.
And He has
on His robe and on His thigh a name written:
Although He may prefer to be viewed as the Lamb, let us never
forget, or ever lose our reverential fear, that Jesus is our Lord, and Master,
and Savior, God Almighty, Creator of the universe, consuming fire, King of
kings and Lord of lords.
Then I saw an angel
standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds
that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper
of the great God, that you may eat the flesh of
kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and
of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and
slave, both small and great.”
When Jesus walked this earth, He was a Master at parables, which by definition is, to cast alongside as a comparison. So far in this chapter alone we’ve seen at least three side by side comparisons.
However, make no mistake, these are not parables, they will literally happen.
The Great Harlot, juxtaposed with the Bride of Christ. The greatest wedding, followed by the largest funeral
The Marriage Supper of the Lamb, followed by the
supper of the great God.
Day after day, with every sunrise and sunset, He sets before
us, Life and death; and then, He provides, the Answer, choose Life. Deuteronomy 30:19.
And I saw the beast, the
kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him
who sat on the horse and against His army.
This is where Revelation 16:16 left off. “And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.”
Then the beast was
captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by
which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who
worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of
fire burning with brimstone. And the
rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who
sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.
The beast (antichrist) and false prophet, are thrown into lake
of fire, forever and ever. The devil will be thrown into the bottomless pit
(abyss) for one thousand years, in the next chapter, Revelation 20:10.
The rest of the people, against God, are killed by His sWORD. The
scavenger birds are filled with their flesh.
These events will literally happen. They cannot be allegorized, or,
historical-ized.
Bible prophecy, is looking more and more, like front page news.
The trajectory of world events are lining up, exactly as the Bible predicts.
Lord, we pray, the trajectory of our soul is ever headed in Your direction.
