In the spring when I was young
When green leafs were just but buds
The view below of the lake crystal blue was clear
The sunrise shone through the buds bright and warm
As summer progressed the days grew longer
The green leafs appeared from the multicolored buds
The days grew long and hot
The trees grew green and heavy
When green leafs were thick
The view below of the lake crystal clean and pure…was
hidden
The sunrise barely shone through the leafs so busy
The green leafs turned to multicolored autumn
The day’s breath drew short
The sun rose lower and colder
On the bluff overlooking the water crystal clean and pure
When leafs once green, were colored, dried and fallen
The sunrise shone through the barren trees bright and warm
I wondered why I never took the time to prune
To maintain the view, of the lake crystal clean and pure
...Before the dead of winter, drove me far from here.
