Remember, church can never be canceled.
Wherever two or more are gathered in His name, He’s right there in the midst.
We don’t have to be physically gathered; after all, we are spirit, we have a soul and live in a body.
Jesus told the woman at the well, God is Spirit, and those that worship Him, must worship Him in Spirit and Truth. He was having church, right there, out there, with the woman at the well.
We can gather, in Spirit and in Truth, via internet, phone, or even in writing if the electrical grid failed and we shared epistles as the apostles of old.
Perhaps, it’s even better in many ways. It’d definitely separate the worshippers from folks who do church as a social club.
Jesus said, "the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to worship Him." (John 4:23)
The same goes for prayer. Maybe now we'll have more time to devote to prayer. We won't just rely on the preacher to say a once size fits all prayer, but we'll actually call our family and friends, to see if they're okay...and pray.
Whatever caused this world-upside-down-turning event doesn't matter as much as us knowing that God is able and willing to work all things together for good to those who love Him.
Always, remember, it’s the people, not the steeple.
