Signs In The Heavens

Yesterday (3.28.20) I read Jesus words out of Luke chapter twenty-one. It sounded like He was reading the current newspaper. Verse eleven jumped out at me.

In that verse Jesus mentioned three things.

1.      Earthquakes: About ten days prior we had an online prayer meeting with thousands from around the globe with Intercessors For America. The theme was, “A Global Shaking”. That very day, there was literally, a global shaking.  Multiple large earthquakes hit Utah; and other places around the globe.

2.     Pestilences: There’s no need to mention the global pestilence coronavirus.

3.     Signs in the heavens: The next thing Jesus mentioned really caught my eye, “Signs from heaven…” I don’t know exactly what that means; but I figure, if it happens, we’ll know. I just pray we’re paying attention.

Are you watching the weather, checking the sky? Yesterday I told my wife I wouldn’t be surprised if we heard about some major wind, hail, tornadoes or lightning flashing across the sky.
Photo taken 12 hrs after this was written.
More and more, I’ve been listening, watching, praying, expecting God to be speaking.

I’m fully persuaded, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that someday everything Jesus said, will come to pass.

That statement sounds good and right; like a something every Christian should believe and say. Right? However, there’s a problem; the word, “someday.”

Someday Jesus is coming. Someday, He’ll return. I need to be ready for someday, someday, someday…but, not today.

The Bible warns against that. We have no guarantee of tomorrow.

God is speaking. Are we listening? Today?

Make no mistake; Coronavirus is not from God. He’s not making people get sick and die. However, He is speaking, loud and clear in the midst of this storm.

Think about the biggest directive being used: WASH YOUR HANDS

No one could’ve ever imagined that the entire world would be hunkering down in fear from an invisible enemy and the biggest weapon against it was: WASH YOUR HANDS

There’s much more to “wash your hands” than the physical act of it. The Bible makes it abundantly clear when it says “wash your hands” it means, REPENT. Wash away your sins; the virus of your soul.

God takes what the devil meant for harm and turns it around for good. He specializes in bringing life from death. The whole world is saying what Jesus has been praying we’d do all along WASH YOUR HANDS…turn from your sin. I’m coming back again.

It’s so obvious.

We probably never noticed Isaiah 26:20 before, however, now it’s been made famous because of its parallel to the coronavirus quarantine.

BUT CONTEXT is king and with the grace and poise and perfect harmony that only the Bible can give, the very next verse reveals what everything is pointing to:

The King is coming out of heaven to pour His wrath on the inhabitants of earth for sin; their bloodshed will be exposed.

Remember:

But; He is Holy and Just and True and will not, cannot, tolerate sin. He is the Alpha (beginning) and also the Omega (end). He will bring this to an end.

You’ve got to admit, things are changing fast. God is speaking loud and clear. Today if you hear His Voice, harden not your hearts. Today…not someday.

Today is the day to get ready, because before long it’ll be, ready or not, here I come…and just like that, it’ll be done.

Can you hear Him?
