Noah walked with God.
Worked for God.
Waited on God.
Now, he worships God.
(Genesis 6:9, 22, 8:10,12,20).
Chapter eight opened by saying that God remembered Noah; now
Noah remembers God, as the chapter ends.
The flood is over. Noah is finally free from the ark; yet,
like the dove, he returns to the One who set him free.
Do we?
Where do we go when the flood of trouble recedes?
20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord…
Noah built an ark, now he builds an altar.
FIRST.
The first thing mentioned when debarking from the ark, is
worship. There’s a million things he could’ve done, but the one thing he did,
was turn to God, build Him an altar, and worship Him. Jesus puts it like this: Seek
FIRST the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these other things will
be added unto you. Matthew 6:33.
This is the first mention of an, altar, in the Bible. However,
probably not the first altar. Remember Cain, and Abel, brought offerings to the
Lord. Gen. 4:3-4.
This altar in the eighth chapter of the first book reminds me of one in the eighth chapter of the last book.
Revelation 8:3-4. Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand.
Both altars are at a time when God is judging the Earth.
Here, post flood. There, mid tribulation, between the seal and trumpet
judgements.
The smoke from both ascends as a sweet aroma to God. Here the smoke is from animals. There from incense and prayers of the saints. Both acts of worship and a soothing aroma to the Lord.
Dear Saint, your prayers are precious to God, they ascend like a sweet aroma to Him.
and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird,
and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
Not every, but “of” every clean animal. Worship is
not only first, but of the best. Not just any old dirty, unclean offering, but
the first and the best is offered to God.
This is a shadow of the First and the Best that God will
offer; His only begotten Son. Jesus Christ, will offer Himself, as the Ultimate,
Spotless, Perfectly Clean, Sacrifice; The Lamb of God, slain for the sins of
the world.
21 And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma.
Then the Lord said in His heart…
WORSHIP OPENS WINDOWS
Worship opens the windows of heaven, this time, not for
water, but revelation.
Are you stuck? Confused? Unsure of what to do?
Worship. Give thanks.
Soon You’ll discover your troubles aren't that big after all. Relish
in His Presence, and realize revelation you never had before.
Noah worships, God draws near and shares what’s on His heart.
God inhabits the
praises of His people. Psalm 22:3.
And what does He share?
A prophecy of protection, and provision and a promise that’s
just as real and applicable to you and I, here and now today, as it was to Noah
and crew back then.
Going to God, just to talk, to say thanks is a sweet-smelling
savor, to Him.
Dottie Rambo sang it well in her beautiful song:
“I didn’t come here to ask You for anything. I just came to talk with You Lord. You’ve answered a million prayers or more; that I forgot to thank You for; I just came to talk with You Lord. Maybe tomorrow there’ll be trouble and sorrow; and a thousand teardrops may fall. but until I face tomorrow’s task, I have no special favor to ask. I just came to talk with You Lord…”
You know exactly what it’s like. There are friends who stop
by just to say, “Hi”. Then, there are “friends” who stop by, only when they
want something.
What kind of friend, to God, are you?
“I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.
Genesis 8:21b.
In a single sentence God succinctly covers His judgements from
fall to flood; and says, I’ll never do that again.
Ø
I will never again curse the ground for man's
sake; as He did with Adam. Genesis 3:17.
Ø Although
the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; as in the days
before the flood. Genesis 6:5.
Ø Nor will I destroy, as I have done. God will judge the earth again, but never again with a worldwide flood.
Now, did you notice something really bad survived the flood?
I will never again
curse the ground for man’s sake
God delivered the punishment, but man caused it.
man's heart is
evil from his youth
The flood couldn’t get rid of the cause.
No amount of water, not even the entire earth being baptized
in water, could wash away the evil in man’s heart.
There's no rehab for sin, it must be put to death; cut out
like cancer. No amount of water, will power, reform, judgement, religiosity, can
cleanse it.
It. Must. Die.
Unless a man is
born again, he cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven. John 3:3.
The cure isn’t a flood, it's— Blood.
The sin-drowning-soul-saving Blood of Jesus. He died, so we
can live.
“I am crucified
with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ lives in me…” Galatians
2:20.
Christianity is death. An internal revolution. So, He, by
His Spirit, can live through us. Make us new.
22 “While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night
Shall not cease.”
Genesis 8:22.
Seedtime and harvest, sowing and reaping, season after
season will not cease. This earth will continue to produce food, enough food,
for its inhabitants.
Now, it gets distributed corruptly, thus, some are full, and
others starve; but it’s not due to lack. God never creates anything with lack.
Winter and summer; seasons will not cease.
Day and night; the earth will keep spinning.
Just as the seasons, and days and nights are cyclical, so
too are cold and heat. There will be rhythms and patterns.
GOD IS IN CONTROL OF THE THERMOSTAT (CLIMATE) AND
NOTHING MAN CAN DO, OR DRIVE, OR SPRAY, CAN CHANGE THAT, NOT ONE SECOND, NOT
ONE DEGREE.
While the earth remains. There are still a lot of
years remaining, no matter what kind of car you drive.
God still has some major events on earth’s agenda.
First up, is the rapture; it will happen at any
moment. The signs pointing to its exit ramp are everywhere.
Following the rapture will be seven years of tribulation—the
earth will go through a living hell and climax at the battle of Armageddon,
but the earth will still remain.
After that, will be a thousand years of peace and rest while
Jesus rules the earth from Jerusalem, during the Millenium.
Then, believe it or not, there will be one last rebellion
(Revelation 20:7-10), followed by the Great White Throne Judgement (Revelation
20:11-15).
Finally, this old world will be renovated by fire, (the
only Truth to “global warming”) and we’ll have a New Heaven and a New Earth,
in which righteousness dwells, and ever shall we be with the Lord. Isaiah 65:17, 2 Peter 3:13, Revelation 21:1.
So, even if the rapture happens today, for at least another
1,007 years, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, day and
night, WILL NOT CEASE.
So, don’t freak out, the sky is not falling; no matter what
the alarmists with chicken little agendas shout.
The end game of the enemy, is Global Governance. One World
Government. It is in the making, and it will happen. Revelation 13:16-18.
However, if you are in Christ, you are not
appointed to wrath (1 Thessalonians 5:9). God will deliver you, as He delivered
Noah; you have nothing to fear—that’s a solid Truth repeated 365 times in His
Word.
As it was in the
days of Noah, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man. Matthew 24:37
Today, it is, as it was, in the days of Noah.
Let’s pray.
Lord Jesus,
We just want to say, we love and appreciate You.
No requests. We’re just here, to talk with You Lord.
Thank You for revealing things to come, so we can walk by
faith, not by fear, and honor You as we do.
You are awesome, we’re looking forward to seeing You
soon, face to Face.
We love You, forever.
Amen.
