My Name's Peter

~
Here I am again

Out on a limb

Well more like water

Deep deep water

And I can’t swim

The wind’s against me

And the waves are high

Why risk the wet

When I was dry

What was I thinking

Why would I try

To do the impossible

To attempt to fly

But I’m doing it just that

Water walking to The Son

And all because

Jesus said “Come.”

An Awesome poem and so likely to be US as we often are. Many times ready to COME to step out, then hesitant and wanting Jesus to catch us lest we drown. May we dare to trust him fully when he offers us to COME!

we all walk our own waters... do we hear Him calling, Come?

A Joyful Noise & wolfsrosebud, Nice to see you and thanks for stopping by. Your comments are so true, at first we leap and then we look and fear drops us but on our knees He reaches out and grasps us strong. And as you said, we walk our own waters... sometimes we may find the troubled waters are of our own stirring - yet God is faithful to deliver once again.

Made me give you a very strong grin. Thanks for being very straightforwardly creative.

"Come" is also the final invitation of Scripture.
In this opportune Season, let us all seek to faithfully say, "Come" to someone outside the box.

“…This is the peace of which the shepherds heard.
“Glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace, goodwill toward men.”
…This peace offer still stands today. In the final invitation of the New Testament, it is offered to all:
I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

… Everyone who hears this should say, “Come!”
If you are thirsty, come! If you want life-giving water, come and take it. It’s free!

… Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.”

Thanks Mike I couldn't agree with you more, I like how you define "come" with the word, invitation. Come in out of the cold, out of the dark. An invitation to a banquet.
