Undaunted by the weather, they lined up in the rain, warriors everyone.
Patriots.
Harleys.
Leather.
To kick off this Memorial Day weekend, he stood before them, to thank them, to tell them they mattered; that he remembers...the first time they met.
It wasn't long after he and his wife took that famous escalator ride.
He said, I remember the first time we gathered. You packed the place. There wasn't enough room to get you all in.
I offered to do it again. To hold another meeting so you’d all have a chance to get in, to attend.
I’ll never forget your reply.
Mr. President, that’s okay. We don’t need to get in. We’re not here for us, but for you. To protect you. We’ve got your back, Mr. President.
Thank you, my friends.
Thank you, Patriots.
Thank you, Warriors.
Thank you, Veterans.
May we never forget.
