Did you see the Corona briefing today?
I heard words like, “We all have a part to play. If we work
together and follow the 15 Day Guidelines, we can see a dramatic difference”
There were a multitude of questions about everything corona;
fielded by a variety of experts.
The questions that got me to thinking, were ones about the
economy. Which usually, isn’t my particular interest, but today, they just
jumped out at me.
Not so much the nuts and bolts of what was asked or answered,
but the way President Trump responded.
The economy. The awesome record-breaking economy. His golden
ticket to another term in the White House.
The economy that has gone from top of the charts to bottom of the barrel almost
overnight. By an invisible enemy.
You'd think it'd be a sore spot. Yet, if it was, The President
didn’t show any signs of it. His answers about the economy were direct, polite,
succinct. Then, he’d move on to talking about what was obviously, abundantly on
his heart: beating the virus; saving the people.
As the briefing droned on and on question after question, I was
thinking about how The President didn’t seem to even think about sacrificing
his ace in the hole, his golden ticket. At the first signs of a problem with
China, he cut off travel to the ridicule of many…the saving of more.
Today, through this crisis, he's shown me, that he cares more
for the people than the presidency. (Accentuated by how he donates his pay; the
latest check of $100,000, to help fight the coronavirus).
About that time, he said something like this:
“Let’s just focus on getting rid of the virus. We can always get
back the economy, but we can’t get back the people.”
I thought about how God, puts down one and lifts up another and
was thankful that He put this man, I’m proud to call my president, in office.
God bless President Trump, Vice President Pence, all of their
families and staff; and God bless us as we stand united, one nation under God,
the United States Of America.
